giving you a leg up to health and fitness
I grew up in Kenya (as Caroline Legg – hence the name) with a love of the great outdoors. I have competed in many sports throughout my life. Horse riding was a major part of my early years and I competed to the top level of junior riding in Kenya. I then came to school here in the UK where I was involved in many sports, but my strengths were athletics and swimming.
I have two girls in secondary school. I started running again after having my second child as I had put on weight, had just been handed a prescription for glasses and was feeling that I had lost my “Va va voom” and my own identity! Over the last few years I have found running to be a really wonderful life-enhancer; it relieves stress and gives me time just to be me. I have run a few 10k’s, four half marathons and in 2011 my first marathon – London in April, completed in 4 hours and 29 minutes.
I decided to become a Personal Trainer to learn more about how and why the body works in the way it does. More importantly, I wanted to help guide and assist others who feel, as I did, that their physical, social and mental state are not where they want them to be. My goal now is to get everyone active, but also to empower each individual to take health and fitness into their everyday lives.
